We often take reading and writing for granted. And yet, nearly one billion people around the world are unable to read a book, write their name or do simple mathematical tasks. It is a problem that will persist across generations unless we do something to eliminate it now.
As a company that is deeply committed to the written word, Montblanc has invited 149 celebrities to job the global initiative "The Power to Write". We want to raise funds to reduce illiteracy. Specifically, with your purchase of a Meisterstück Nº 149 UNICEF 2007 Edition, Montblanc will donate $149 to UNICEF education programs.
September 8th is World Literacy Day and marks the beginning of this world-wide initiative. We are proud to announce that Yousef Khanfar, Winner of the 2007 Independent Publisher Book Awards for Outstanding Book of the Year, has joined the campaign and will visit the Montblanc boutique at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City between 3:00-5:00pm.
We would like to invite you on this special occasion to meet Yousef Khanfar and hope you will find the time to help us make "The Power to Write" initiative a resounding success.
